Community Futures was first responsible for establishing the Lancashire Association of Village and Community Halls back in @ 1999. Prior to that they organised most of the meetings and training directly, that LAVCH later came to take on.
Community futures still offer a range of services to village halls, including:
- Trustee training. A half or one day course, aimed at charity trustees either to refresh their knowledge or provide them with a comprehensive guide to their roles and responsibilities. PRICE: 1 day = £250 for a maximum of 10 people. ½ day = £180 for a maximum of 10 people.
- Governance Training. A one day course for people who provide advice to groups or members on choosing appropriate structures and understanding regulation. PRICE: £250 for a maximum of 10 people.
- Governance Enquiries. A telephone or e mail response to questions and help with drafting/re-drafting documents. Can also provide model documents and guidance notes. PRICE: No charge for telephone enquiries. £25 for drafting re-drafting.
- Village Halls Advice. Can provide legislative correct guidance leaflets on a wide range of issues relating to VH management (e.g. licenses, booking forms, insurance, employment etc.) PRICE : Average of £10 per guidance document and £25 per model templates.

At this time they are also seeking additional funding to be able to provide dedicated support services for governance advice. Watch this space!
